ABOUT Brooklyn Bedding
Since its humble beginnings in 1995, Brooklyn Bedding has grown from a small family operation in Phoenix, Arizona, into a powerhouse of American-made sleep solutions, all while keeping the spirit of innovation and grit at its core. Founded by brothers John and Rob Merwin—who started by selling mattresses out of a refurbished Wonder Bread truck—the company got its name from John’s daughter, Brooklyn, and a knack for catchy branding that resonates far beyond the Arizona desert. What began as a scrappy liquidation gig turned into a mission to redefine how mattresses are made and delivered, driven by a hands-on approach and a refusal to settle for the status quo.
Brooklyn Bedding is one of the few mattress companies in the country that does it all in-house. From pouring their own foam to crafting pocketed coils and stitching every seam, their state-of-the-art facilities in Phoenix and Glendale, Arizona, hum with vertical integration that keeps quality high and costs low. This means they’re not just slapping their name on someone else’s work—they’re building every mattress from the ground up, ensuring each one delivers on comfort, durability, and value. Their 648,165-square-foot Glendale factory even boasts the prestigious Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) certification, a nod to their commitment to eco-friendly practices and ethical production that doesn’t cut corners.
